How to use Chinese Visa Photo (33x48 mm)
Select a photo
Click Select a photo. A recent photo of you facing the camera works best. Use Rotate if it opened sideways.
Set the size and a white background
Check that Size says 33 × 48 mm. Under Background, click White. Then drag the crop box so your face is inside the oval with the centre line between your eyes.
Make the photos
Click Make passport photos. Save the single JPG at 300 DPI, and pick 4 × 6 in, A4 or US Letter under Sheet as to get a print sheet with cutting lines.
The less common size, set for you
Most photo tools open on 35 × 45 mm, so it is easy to end up with the wrong shape. This page opens on 33 × 48 mm already, and the crop box is locked to it, with an oval and a centre line to place your face.
A plain white background is what you are aiming for. Choose White and an on-device model replaces what is behind you, downloaded once the first time. For clean edges, still take the photo against an even wall, with good light on your face and no shadows.
PlumPDF sizes and crops the photo, but it does not judge whether it meets every official rule. Rules change and differ by application, so check the official guidance for your application before you print or submit. Print the sheet at 100% to keep the size. Everything runs in your browser.
Questions about Chinese Visa Photo (33x48 mm)
Why is this size different from 35 x 45 mm?
It is a separate size, 33 × 48 mm, a little narrower and taller. Using the standard 35 × 45 mm size by mistake gives you a photo of the wrong shape, which is why this page keeps the Size set for you.
How do I get a white background?
Choose White under Background. An on-device model finds you and replaces everything behind you, and the first time it downloads once (16 MB). A plain wall in even light still gives the cleanest edges.
Can I use the JPG for an online application?
The single photo is saved as a JPG at 300 DPI. An online form may ask for a different size in KB or pixels. If it does, use Photo and Signature Resizer for Forms on the saved JPG.
Will the print come out at the right size?
Yes, if you print the sheet at 100% or "actual size". Do not choose "fit to page", because that changes the size. Cutting lines are on the sheet to help you trim.
Does PlumPDF check that my photo meets the official rules?
No. PlumPDF sizes and crops the photo, but it does not judge whether it meets every official rule. Check the background, expression, head position and print quality yourself. Rules change and differ by application, so check the official guidance for your application before printing or submitting.
Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
No. The photo is cropped and the sheet is made inside your browser tab, so nothing is uploaded and nothing is stored. Closing the tab discards everything.
Does it work without an internet connection?
Yes, after your first visit. The page and its tools are kept by your browser, so you can use it on a slow or dropped connection. Nothing is sent anywhere either way.
