Convert to PDF
GIF to PDF, first frame, privately

Animated GIFs and PDF pages
GIF is mostly known for animation, but plenty of GIF files are still pictures: old logos, diagrams, clip art. Those convert exactly as you would expect.
For an animated file, your browser decodes the first frame and PlumPDF draws it on a white canvas at the GIF's own pixel size, then stores the result as a lossless PNG inside the PDF. Later frames are ignored. There is no option to pick a different frame or to lay all frames out on separate pages.
GIFs are usually small in pixels, often a few hundred wide. Choosing "Fit to image" gives a small page, which is fine on screen but small for printing. If you want a standard sheet, choose A4 or US Letter: the picture is centred at its natural size and not enlarged, so it will look small on the page rather than blurry.
Questions about GIF to PDF
What happens to an animated GIF?
Only the first frame is used. A PDF page is a still page, so the animation cannot be kept. If you need a particular frame, take a screenshot or export that frame as PNG, then use PNG to PDF.
Can I convert multiple GIFs into one PDF?
Yes. Add up to 50 files, keep "One PDF with all images" selected, and each image becomes one page in the order shown in the list. Choose "One PDF per image" if you want separate files, which you can download together as a zip.
Will the colours change?
GIF uses a palette of up to 256 colours. PlumPDF draws the first frame onto a white canvas and stores it as PNG, so the colours you see are the colours in the PDF.
Are transparent GIFs kept transparent?
No, the transparent pixels turn white, because the frame is drawn on a white background first.
What page size will my PDF have?
By default the page matches the image, so nothing is cropped or padded. If you pick A4 or US Letter, the image is centred and scaled down to fit, never enlarged past its natural size at 96 DPI. A4 and Letter also unlock orientation and margin options.
Is it safe to convert GIFs to PDF online?
Yes, in the sense that matters here: PlumPDF never receives your files. The conversion runs inside your browser tab, so nothing is uploaded, and closing the tab discards everything. You can check this by turning off your internet connection after the page loads and converting anyway.
