New Remove Hidden Data

See what your files give away before you send them

PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and photo files can carry far more than what you see. The report shows exactly what is inside, then removes it, without any file leaving your device.

A privacy check that uploads your file defeats its own purpose. This one runs in your browser.

Why PlumPDF

What changes when nothing is uploaded

Most online PDF tools send your file to a server and send the result back. PlumPDF does the same jobs on your own device.

Privacy

Private by design

Most online converters upload your file to a server, process it there and send it back. PlumPDF never receives your files: every tool runs inside your browser tab, on your own device.

Read the privacy policy

PlumPDF counts visits with analytics cookies, never including file names or contents. It can put a password on a PDF when you ask it to, but it does not scan files for malware or recover forgotten passwords; it simply never has your files.

  • No upload step

Files are read and written by your browser. They do not travel across the network.

  • Nothing is stored

There is no server copy to leak or delete. Close the tab and your files are gone from memory.

  • Works offline

After your first visit, the tools keep working without an internet connection.

  • Masked from analytics

Visit statistics never include file names or contents.

Check it yourself

Don't take our word for it

  • Go offline and try it

Open any tool, turn on airplane mode, then convert a file. It still works, because nothing needs to be sent.

  • Watch the network

Open your browser's developer tools, choose the Network tab and run a tool. No request carries your file.

Questions and answers

What is PlumPDF?

PlumPDF is a free set of PDF and image tools that run in your web browser. It merges, splits, rotates and reorders PDFs, turns images and text into PDF and PDF pages into images or text, compresses, signs, password-protects and unlocks PDFs, makes scanned PDFs searchable with OCR, and converts, compresses, resizes, crops and rotates images. Your files are processed on your own device and are not uploaded.

Is it really free, and do I need an account?

It is free, and there is no account, sign-up or watermark. Limits are practical ones: up to 50 files at a time in every tool that takes several (Organize, Delete and Extract pages and Sign PDF work on one PDF at a time), 100 MB per PDF, 50 MB per image or text file, 200 pages per PDF when converting to images or text, and 50 pages per PDF for OCR.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. Every tool runs inside your browser, on your device. You can confirm it by loading a page, turning off your internet connection and converting a file anyway.

Which file formats can I convert?

To PDF: Word documents (.docx), PNG, JPG/JPEG, WEBP, GIF, BMP, SVG, AVIF and plain text. From PDF: an editable Word document (.docx), PNG, JPG and WEBP images (one per page) and a .txt file of the text. Between images: JPG, PNG, WEBP, AVIF, GIF, BMP, SVG and HEIC in, and JPG, PNG, WEBP, AVIF or ICO out. You can also compress, sign and watermark PDFs, make scans searchable, and add or remove a password.

Can it convert Word, Excel or PowerPoint files?

Word, yes: Word to PDF turns .docx files into PDFs, and PDF to Word turns PDFs into editable .docx files, both in your browser. Excel and PowerPoint files are not supported; save them as PDF from the program that made them, then use the PDF tools here.

Does it work offline?

Yes. After your first visit, PlumPDF works without an internet connection: your browser keeps a copy of the site. A few parts are downloaded the first time you use them and kept for offline use after that: the image encoders for AVIF, HEIC and image compression, the password engine, and the OCR engine and language data (4 to 7 MB).
