How to use Image to PDF
Add your images
Drop them on the box, click to browse, or paste with Ctrl/Cmd+V. You can add up to 50.
Choose the layout
Pick one PDF or one per image, then a page size: fit to image, A4 or US Letter.
Convert and download
Press Convert. The PDF is built in your browser and appears ready to download.
How images are placed on the page
With "Fit to image", every page takes the size of its image, measured at 96 DPI, so a 1600 by 1200 pixel picture becomes a 1200 by 900 point page. Pages in one PDF can therefore differ in size if your images do.
With A4 or US Letter, the image is centred inside the margin you choose (none, 24 pt or 48 pt) and scaled down to fit. It is never scaled up, so a small icon stays small instead of turning blurry. Orientation can follow each image (Auto), or be forced to portrait or landscape.
Photos taken on a phone often carry an EXIF rotation tag. PlumPDF reads it and turns the picture the right way up. Transparent areas in PNG files stay transparent in the PDF; for formats that are redrawn first, transparency is flattened onto white.
Questions about Image to PDF
Can I convert multiple images into one PDF?
Yes. Add up to 50 files, keep "One PDF with all images" selected, and each image becomes one page in the order shown in the list. Choose "One PDF per image" if you want separate files, which you can download together as a zip.
What page size will my PDF have?
By default the page matches the image, so nothing is cropped or padded. If you pick A4 or US Letter, the image is centred and scaled down to fit, never enlarged past its natural size at 96 DPI. A4 and Letter also unlock orientation and margin options.
Which image formats work?
PNG, JPG/JPEG, WEBP, GIF, BMP, SVG and AVIF. HEIC photos (the default on iPhones) cannot be added directly, because most browsers cannot decode them. Turn them into JPG with HEIC to JPG first, then add those.
Will my images lose quality in the PDF?
JPG files are embedded as they are, byte for byte, so there is no re-compression. PNG files are embedded without loss too. WEBP and AVIF have to be redrawn and are saved inside the PDF as JPEG at quality 92, which is hard to tell apart from the original.
Is it safe to convert images to PDF online?
Yes, in the sense that matters here: PlumPDF never receives your files. The conversion runs inside your browser tab, so nothing is uploaded, and closing the tab discards everything. You can check this by turning off your internet connection after the page loads and converting anyway.
Is there a limit on image size?
Each file can be up to 50 MB, and each image up to 40 megapixels (for example 8000 by 5000 pixels). Larger images are rejected with a message, because browsers can run out of memory decoding them.
