Privacy policy

Short version: your files never leave your device. The site uses analytics cookies to count visits, and you choose whether to accept them.

Effective 21 October 2026

Your files

PlumPDF converts and edits files inside your browser. Your files are not uploaded, not sent to any server of ours or anyone else's, and not stored by us. They exist only in your browser's memory while you use a tool, and are gone when you close or reload the page. The one exception stays on your device too: when you drop a file on the home page and pick a tool, the file is kept in your browser's own storage for the moment it takes to open that tool, which takes it and deletes it at once. If the tool never opens, the file is deleted the next time you open a PlumPDF tool or the home page after ten minutes, or when you clear the site's data. If you press Keep in My files after a result (or turn on keeping results automatically), that result is also kept in your browser's own storage, on this device only, so you can download it again or use it in another tool from My files. It is never uploaded. Each kept file is deleted after 7 days, and you can delete one or all of them in My files at any time; clearing the site's data deletes them too. Form kit, in My files, is off until you turn it on: the photo, signature and ID card you then add are kept in the same way, on this device only and never uploaded, but they do not expire. They stay until you delete them or press "Delete everything and turn off", or clear the site's data. Anyone using the same browser can see them, so do not turn Form kit on on a shared or public computer. The files you download are saved by your browser, on your device.

Because nothing is uploaded, we cannot see, recover or delete your files, and we cannot help if you lose a result.

What we collect

We collect anonymous visit statistics with analytics cookies, described below. We do not ask for your name or email, there are no accounts, and we do not run advertising. If you write to us at info@plumpdf.com, we keep your message and address to answer you.

Analytics cookies

With your consent, we use analytics cookies from two analytics providers, Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, to count visits and understand how pages and tools are used: pages viewed, approximate location derived from your IP address, browser and device type, clicks and scrolling, and events such as "a conversion finished". These never include file names, file contents, passwords or exact file sizes; elements that show them are masked. The providers act as our processors and may process data outside your country. Cookies last up to two years.

If you use PlumPDF as an installed app on your phone or computer, we also count how often the app is opened. Opens while you are offline are counted on your device only and sent as a single number the next time you are online. Nothing is sent if you have declined analytics, and the app never needs the internet to open.

Your choice

PlumPDF asks whether you accept cookies. "Accept all" allows analytics cookies. Under "Manage preferences" you can leave analytics off and save. Either way, the site and all tools work in full. Your choice is saved in your browser, and you can change it at any time with "Cookie settings" in the footer of every page.

If you leave analytics off, and in the EEA, the UK, Switzerland, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway until you make a choice, no analytics cookies are set and the providers are told not to identify you. They may still receive limited signals without cookies: Google Analytics can receive a cookieless notice that a page was viewed, which it uses only for aggregate, modelled counts, and Clarity can record how a page is used without cookies, so separate visits cannot be linked to each other. File names and contents stay masked in every case.

How to opt out

Use "Cookie settings" in the footer and turn analytics off under "Manage preferences" to stop analytics cookies. To stop analytics requests altogether, block them in your browser or with a browser extension that blocks analytics. Blocking analytics does not affect how PlumPDF works.

Hosting and server logs

The site is hosted by Hostinger. Like any web host, it keeps basic server logs (IP address, time, the page requested, browser type) for security and operation. We do not use these logs to identify individual visitors, and they contain no file data, because files are never sent.

Offline copy

PlumPDF saves a copy of its own pages and code in your browser (a service worker and cache) so it works offline. That copy contains no personal data. The site also remembers a few choices in your browser's storage on this device, never sent anywhere: the tools you used last, your theme, the language you last read PlumPDF in, and each tool's last settings (a tool's "Use the defaults" link forgets them). Clearing site data in your browser removes all of it.

No sale of data, and children

We do not sell personal data and do not share it for advertising. PlumPDF is a general-purpose tool and is not aimed at children under 13; we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what data we hold about you, or to have it deleted or corrected. Analytics data is not tied to your name, so we usually cannot find it by who you are, but you can write to us and we will help where we can.

Changes

If we change how the site handles data, we will update this page and the date at the top. Material changes, such as adding a new analytics tool, will be reflected here before they go live.
