How to use Scan to PDF

  1. Take or choose photos

Tap Take photo to use the camera, or choose photos already on your device. Any common format works, including HEIC from an iPhone.

  2. Check the corners

The four corners are placed on the page edges for you. Drag them to adjust, or press Whole photo to use the full picture. Pick Clean, Black & white, Greyscale or Original and watch the live preview.

  3. Save the PDF

Rotate, remove or add pages in the thumbnail strip. Choose A4, US Letter or the page's own shape, set a size limit if a form needs one, then save.

A pocket scanner that stays on your device

A photo of a page is rarely square on. The page is tilted, the edges are skewed and one corner sits in shadow. Here each photo gets four corners on the page edges, and the page is straightened with a perspective correction so it looks as if it was scanned flat.

The clean-up compares every point with the brightness of the paper around it, so shadows and uneven light fade while the text stays firm. A live preview sits next to the photo, so you can switch between Clean, Black & white, Greyscale and Original and see the result before you save.

Add as many pages as you need, rotate or remove any of them, then save one PDF. Everything runs on your device and works offline after the first visit, so your documents stay private.

Questions about Scan to PDF

How does it find the page in the photo?

It looks for paper that is lighter than the surface under it and places four corners on its edges. If it misses, drag any corner to the right spot, or press Whole photo to keep the entire picture.

What do the clean-up options do?

Clean gives white paper and firm text and keeps colour. Black & white suits plain text pages, Greyscale keeps shading without colour, and Original only straightens the page. Shadows and uneven light are evened out because each point is compared with the paper's brightness around it.

How do I get the best result?

Put the page on a darker surface, use daylight, hold the phone flat above the page and keep all four corners in view. A steady, even shot needs the least adjusting.

Can I keep the PDF under a certain size?

Yes. Turn on "Keep the PDF under a size" and enter a limit in KB. The best quality that fits is used, which helps with online forms that set a maximum file size.

Can I make the text searchable afterwards?

This tool saves the pages as images, so the text is not selectable yet. Run the finished file through OCR PDF if you want to search or copy the words.

Are my photos sent anywhere?

No. The photos are read and processed inside your browser tab, so nothing is uploaded and nothing is stored. Closing the tab discards everything.

Does it work without an internet connection?

Yes, after your first visit. The page and its tools are kept by your browser, so you can scan on a slow or dropped connection. Nothing is sent anywhere either way.
