How rotation is stored
PDF pages carry a rotation setting, a multiple of 90 degrees that tells viewers how to turn the page when showing it. PlumPDF adds your turn to the page's existing value and writes the new total, so a page already turned 90 degrees and rotated 90 more ends at 180. The page content itself is not touched, which is why quality does not change and the file size stays about the same.
The thumbnails in the grid are small previews, only to help you see the result. They are not saved.
Because rotation is a page setting, some very old or unusual PDF software ignores it. Mainstream viewers, browsers and printers respect it.
To turn only some pages, rotate those pages. Pages you do not touch are saved as they were.
Questions about Rotate PDF
How do I rotate just one page in a PDF?
Add the PDF, find the page in the grid and press its rotate-left or rotate-right button. The thumbnail turns so you can check it. Then download the file.
Can I rotate every page at once?
Yes. "Rotate all left" and "Rotate all right" turn every page by 90 degrees. You can still adjust single pages afterwards.
Can I rotate several PDFs at once?
Yes. Add up to 50 PDFs and choose left 90°, 180° or right 90°: every page of every file turns by that amount, on top of the rotation it already has. Download the files one by one or as a zip. To turn single pages, work on one PDF at a time.
Is the rotation permanent?
In the new file, yes: the pages are saved with their new orientation. Technically PlumPDF sets the page's rotation value, which every PDF viewer honours. The original file on your device is not changed unless you save over it yourself.
Does the PDF lose quality?
No. Pages are copied as they are, not redrawn. Text stays selectable, images keep their resolution, and links within a page keep working. The thumbnails you see while working are only previews.
Why does my scanned document show sideways?
Scanners sometimes save pages sideways. Rotating the page with this tool fixes the display. The scan itself is not re-processed.
Can I use a password-protected PDF?
Not directly: PlumPDF asks you to remove the password first. If you know it, Unlock PDF saves an unlocked copy you can use here. To lock the result again, use Protect PDF.
