PDF to Excel, tables rebuilt locally
This tool reads the selectable text of each PDF page and rebuilds the tables as an Excel (.xlsx) file, in your browser. Amounts become real numbers you can add up. It needs real text, so scanned pages must go through OCR PDF first.

How tables are rebuilt from a PDF
A PDF does not contain a table the way a spreadsheet does. It holds words drawn at positions on a page. PlumPDF reads those words, groups the ones on the same line into a row, joins close words into one cell, and treats the gaps that run down the page as the column breaks.
Cells that look like amounts are turned into numbers, in the way each country writes them: Indian grouping such as 1,23,456.50, a dot or a comma for decimals (1,234.56 or 1.234,56), spaces between thousands, currency signs and codes, brackets or a trailing minus for negatives, and Dr and Cr marks. Each page is checked to see which decimal mark it uses. Anything with a leading zero, or a run of 10 or more digits, is kept as text, so IDs, account numbers and phone numbers are not altered.
The result is a starting point, not a perfect copy. Merged headings and cells that wrap onto two lines can be split, and images and drawn shapes are ignored. Scanned documents contain no text, so use OCR PDF first. Each PDF can have up to 200 pages.
Questions about PDF to Excel
How do I convert a PDF to Excel for free?
Add the PDF above and press Convert to Excel. You get one .xlsx file per PDF, with one sheet for each page. It is free, there is no sign-up, and the PDF never leaves your device.
How does it find the rows and columns?
It uses where the words sit on the page. Words on one line become a row, words that sit close together form one cell, and the gaps that run down the page become the column breaks. There is no table to read in most PDFs, so this is a best guess from the layout.
Will amounts and dates come out as numbers?
Amounts become real numbers however your bank writes them: 1,23,456.50, ₹ 2,500, 1,234.56, 1.234,56 or 1 234,56, with brackets, a minus sign after the amount, or Dr read as negative and Cr as positive. Values with leading zeros, and digit runs of 10 or more such as account numbers, phone numbers and PIN codes, stay as text so nothing is changed or rounded.
Why is a heading split or a cell broken over two rows?
Merged headings and cells whose text wraps onto two lines can come out split, because the PDF only holds words at positions. Check the sheet and tidy those cells in Excel. Statements, invoices, price lists and reports made by a computer give the cleanest results.
Why does it say no selectable text was found?
The PDF is probably a scan or a photo, which holds only pictures. Run OCR PDF first to add a text layer, then convert the result. The other PDFs you added still go through.
Is it safe to convert a bank statement or invoice here?
Yes. Nothing is uploaded: the pages are read inside your browser tab and the workbook is built there too. Closing the tab discards it. A password-protected PDF needs unlocking first with Unlock PDF.
