How to use Merge PDF

  1. Add your PDFs

Drop at least two PDFs on the box, or click to browse. Each shows its page count.

  3. Merge and download

Press Merge. Your combined file downloads as merged.pdf.

What is and is not kept when merging

PlumPDF merges in your browser: it creates a new empty document and copies the pages of each file into it, in the order of your list. Page content is copied directly, so text stays text, images keep their original data and the page size and rotation settings are preserved. Pages from different files can have different sizes in the same result.

Some things that belong to the document as a whole do not travel with the pages. These include bookmarks, the document title and other metadata, tagged structure for screen readers, and interactive form fields. If those matter, keep the original files.

Merging reads all files into memory at once. A dozen ordinary documents is no trouble; dozens of 100 MB files may make a mobile browser struggle. If that happens, merge in two steps.

The merged file is named merged.pdf.

Questions about Merge PDF

How do I combine PDF files into one?

Add the PDFs above, arrange them in the order you want the pages to appear, and press Merge. The pages of the first file come first, then the second, and so on.

How many PDFs can I merge?

Between 2 and 50 files at a time, up to 100 MB each. Everything is held in your device's memory, so very large totals may be slow on phones. For bigger jobs, merge in two rounds.

Does the PDF lose quality?

No. Pages are copied as they are, not redrawn. Text stays selectable, images keep their resolution, and links within a page keep working. The thumbnails you see while working are only previews.

Are page rotations kept?

Yes. If a page in the source is set to display rotated, it stays rotated in the merged file.

Can I merge only some pages of a file?

Not in this tool, which merges whole files. Use Extract PDF pages first to pull out the pages you need, then merge the result.

What happens to bookmarks and form fields?

They are not carried over. The merged file contains the pages themselves: their text, images and graphics. Bookmarks (the outline) and interactive form fields from the originals are dropped, so flatten or finish forms before merging.

Can I use a password-protected PDF?

Not directly: PlumPDF asks you to remove the password first. If you know it, Unlock PDF saves an unlocked copy you can use here. To lock the result again, use Protect PDF.
