Excel to CSV, every sheet, ready to import
This tool saves each visible sheet of an Excel workbook as a CSV file, ready to import into a website, an accounting app, a bank or a mailing list. Values are saved the way the sheet shows them, so dates and amounts look the same, and the file is UTF-8 so Hindi, accents and the ₹ sign stay readable. It runs in your browser, so the workbook is never uploaded.

Your files stay on your device. Nothing is uploaded. Check it yourself
How to use Excel to CSV
Add your Excel files
Press Select Excel files and pick one or more .xlsx workbooks.
Choose the separator
Commas suit most sites; pick semicolons or tabs if the place you import into asks for them.
Press Convert to CSV
Then download the CSV, or a zip with one CSV per sheet.
CSV files that import cleanly
Every visible sheet is saved as its own CSV, with values the way the sheet shows them: formulas as their results, dates and amounts in their display format. Hidden rows and sheets are left out, and a merged cell keeps its text in its first column.
Values that hold the separator, quotes or line breaks are quoted so they import as one value. The file is UTF-8 with the marker Excel looks for, so text in any language reads correctly when the CSV is opened again.
The workbook is read in your browser, so it never leaves your device, which matters for salary sheets, customer lists and accounts.
Questions about Excel to CSV
How do I convert Excel to CSV?
Add the .xlsx file above, choose the separator and press Convert to CSV. Each visible sheet becomes its own CSV file.
What happens to a workbook with several sheets?
Each visible sheet becomes a separate CSV named after the workbook and the sheet, and you can download them all in one zip. Hidden sheets are left out.
Are formulas and dates kept?
A formula is saved as its result, and dates and amounts are saved the way the sheet shows them, such as 31/10/2026 or 1,250.00. Colours, charts and pictures are not part of a CSV.
Why does Hindi show as strange symbols in other converters?
Excel needs a small marker at the start of a UTF-8 file to read it correctly. It is added by default, so Hindi, Tamil, accents and ₹ open correctly. Untick it if a system asks for plain UTF-8 without it.
Is my workbook uploaded?
No. It is read and converted in your browser, on your device. Nothing is sent anywhere.
Can I use old .xls files?
Not directly. Open the .xls file in a spreadsheet app and save it as .xlsx, then convert it here.
