Video and audio

Screen recorder, no install and no watermark

Record a lesson, a bug, a presentation or a how-to: choose the whole screen, one window or a browser tab, add your voice from the microphone if you like, and save the video when you stop. There is nothing to install and no watermark. The recording is made by your browser and stays on your device.

Your browser asks what to share: the whole screen, a window or a tab. Tick “Share audio” there to record its sound too. Press Stop, or Stop sharing in the browser, to finish.

  2. Choose what to share

Your browser asks what to record: the entire screen, a window or a tab. Tick Share audio to record its sound too.

  3. Stop and download

Press Stop, or Stop sharing in the browser bar. Watch the recording on the page and press Download to save it.

Recorded by your browser, kept on your device

Modern browsers can share a screen, a window or a tab with a web page, the same way video calls do, and can record what is shared. This page asks for exactly that when you press Start, and nothing is recorded before you choose what to share. A tab is often the best choice for a demo: it records just that page and its sound.

If you tick Also record my voice, the microphone is mixed with the screen's sound into one track, so your explanation and the sound on screen play together. The picture is recorded at up to 30 frames a second.

When you stop, the video is put together in your browser and shown on the page to watch before you download it. Nothing is uploaded at any point, and there is no watermark.

Questions about Screen Recorder

How do I record my screen with sound?

Press Start recording the screen, choose a tab, a window or the whole screen, and tick Share audio in the browser's dialog. Tick Also record my voice before starting to add the microphone. Press Stop when you are done.

Is there a watermark or a time limit?

No watermark. There is no set time limit either: the recording is kept in your browser's memory until you save it, so for very long recordings a computer with plenty of memory works best.

Is my recording uploaded?

No. Your browser records the screen and keeps the video on your device. Nothing is sent to any server, which matters when your screen shows private messages, accounts or work.

Which format is the video?

An MP4 in Chrome, Edge and Safari, which plays everywhere. Firefox records WEBM; turn it into an MP4 with WEBM to MP4 if you need one.

Does it work on phones?

No. Phone browsers do not let websites record the screen; use your phone's own screen recorder there. On a computer it works in Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari.

How do I make the recording smaller to send?

Open Compress Video with the recording and type the size you need, for example 25 MB for email.
