MOV to MP4, for every phone, website and form
iPhones and many cameras save videos as MOV, which some websites, forms and Windows apps refuse. Choose the MOV and get an MP4 of the same video. When the video is already in the common H.264 format, it is only repackaged, so it takes moments and loses nothing. Your video never leaves your device.

How to use MOV to MP4
Choose your MOV
Press Select a video and pick the MOV file, for example from your iPhone's photos or a camera card.
Convert to MP4
Press Convert to MP4. Most iPhone videos are only repackaged, which takes a moment even for a long video.
Download the MP4
Download the MP4 and upload it where the MOV was refused. It plays on every phone and computer.
Why a MOV can usually become an MP4 instantly
MOV and MP4 are both containers: boxes that hold a video track and a sound track. An iPhone set to Most Compatible records H.264 video and AAC sound, exactly what an MP4 holds, so the tool takes the tracks out of the MOV box and puts them in an MP4 box without changing a single frame.
An iPhone set to High Efficiency records HEVC instead, which many websites and older computers cannot play. Those videos are decoded and made into H.264 at high quality, which takes longer but gives an MP4 that plays everywhere.
Everything happens in your browser, using your device's own video hardware where it can, so the video is never uploaded.
Questions about MOV to MP4
How do I convert MOV to MP4?
Choose the MOV file and press Convert to MP4, then download the result. The picture size and sound stay the same.
Does converting lose quality?
Usually not. An iPhone MOV in H.264 is copied into the MP4 exactly. A MOV in HEVC (High Efficiency) is made into H.264 at high quality, so it looks the same to the eye but takes a little longer.
Why is my iPhone video a MOV?
MOV is Apple's own container for video. The picture inside is usually the same H.264 or HEVC an MP4 holds, but some sites only accept the .mp4 container, which is why repackaging is often all it takes.
Is my video uploaded?
No. The video is converted on your own device, inside your browser tab. Nothing is sent anywhere.
My MP4 is too big to send. What now?
Open Compress Video with the MP4 and type the size you need, such as 16 MB for WhatsApp or 25 MB for email.
