CSV to Excel, every row, numbers that add up
This tool turns .csv files (and tab separated .tsv) into Excel workbooks you can open, sort and add up. Every row is kept, commas or semicolons are found on their own, plain numbers become real numbers, and phone numbers, PIN codes and account numbers stay exactly as written instead of losing their leading zeros. It runs in your browser, so the file is never uploaded.

Numbers that add up, codes that stay whole
Opening a CSV straight in a spreadsheet often goes wrong: PIN codes lose their first zero, long account numbers turn into 1.23E+15, and Hindi text shows as strange symbols. This tool decides each value carefully. Plain numbers, including ones written with thousands separators like 1,234.50 or 12,34,567 and percentages like 45%, become real numbers you can add up and sort.
Anything that only looks like a number, such as a value starting with 0 or +, or one longer than 15 digits, is stored as text so it stays exactly as written. Values in quotes keep their commas and line breaks, and every row is kept, empty ones included.
The workbook is made in your browser, so the file never leaves your device.
Questions about CSV to Excel
How do I convert a CSV file to Excel?
Add the .csv file above and press Convert to Excel. You get an .xlsx workbook with one sheet holding every row of the CSV.
Will numbers like 007 or phone numbers lose their zeros?
No. A value with a leading zero or a plus sign, or with more than 15 digits, stays as text exactly as written, so PIN codes, phone numbers, Aadhaar and account numbers are kept whole. Plain numbers such as 1250 or 1,25,000.50 become numbers you can add up.
My CSV uses semicolons or tabs. Does that work?
Yes. The separator is found from the first line: commas, semicolons or tabs. Values in quotes can hold commas and line breaks.
Does it work with Hindi and other languages?
Yes. The CSV is read as UTF-8 and the text is stored as it is, so Hindi, Tamil, accents and the ₹ sign show correctly in Excel.
Is my file uploaded?
No. The CSV is read and the workbook is made in your browser, on your device. Nothing is sent anywhere.
Can I go the other way?
Yes, Excel to CSV saves each sheet of a workbook as a CSV file.
