From microphone to MP3 on your device
When you press Start, the page asks your browser for the microphone, and nothing is recorded before you allow it. The browser records the sound with its own echo cancellation and noise suppression turned on, which keeps voices clear in an ordinary room.
When you press Stop, the recording is turned into an MP3 at 128 kbps on your device, a format every phone, computer, car stereo and upload form accepts. The MP3 encoder comes with the page the first time and then works offline.
